Background:
Doctors usually use CT scans or MRIs to find out how far kidney cancer has spread. Sometimes, regular scans miss small areas where the cancer has spread. This study is looking at whether a special type of scan called a PSMA PET scan can do a better job of finding hidden cancer. This type of scan targets a protein called PSMA, which is often found in a common type of kidney cancer called clear cell renal cell carcinoma. If PSMA PET scans work well, they could help doctors choose the best treatment by giving a more complete picture of the cancer.
The Trial:
This study will investigate whether a PSMA PET scan can do a better job of finding hidden cancer compared to CT or MRI scans.
All study participants will undergo PSMA-1007 PET/CT scan.
Basic Eligibility:
- Needs to have clear cell component
- Metastatic kidney cancer (cancer has spread)
Additional eligibility criteria will apply. Please speak to your doctor.
